Enhancing Ritual at Home
Meaning, Resilience, Children, and Coconuts
Parents and friends are invited to join local author, teacher, and child psychologist Wendy Horwitz to learn and reflect on how we use ritual in the home.
How do we engage children in religious and secular rituals that are fun, easy to do, and meaningful? What practices might we develop at home that build on our own background, experience, and desire for meaning? How might we use ritual for ourselves as parents and caregivers, as we face changes and challenges in our children and our relationships with them?
This participatory workshop is partly based on Wendy’s book, Milkweed and Honey Cake: A Memoir in Ritual Moments, as well as her experience as a parent, teacher, and GJC member.
Shabbat – February 22 – 9:30 AM
In the Silver Kiddush Lounge (upstairs from the Charry) with coffee and treats
