Hear about what is being done to prepare for free and fair elections this year, including to ensure access, accurate counts, get information to the public, and prepare for any disruptions to the process. Panelists will share ways for interested GJC members to work with non-profits actively involved in this area during this important election year.

Panelists:

  • Seth Bluestein, Philadelphia City Commissioner is one of the three commissioners responsible for running elections, from registration to certifying vote outcomes. He is the city’s sole Republican commissioner. Bluestein worked closely with Secretary of State Al Schmidt and has been outspoken on ensuring fair elections.
  • Adam Bonin, lawyer, is a trusted expert in election law, from finance compliance to election outcome disputes. He is a key legal advisor to many Democratic candidates at local- and state-level in Pennsylvania, and across the country. He appears frequently in the media to explain these issues for the public.
  • Ben Geffen, lawyer at the Public Interest Law Center, specializes in electoral issues and the litigation necessary to protect access for voters and ensure fair elections. PILC is a leader in protecting the rights of individuals and engaging the public to help ensure voting rights to all eligible voters.
