Serving the Community

Germantown Jewish Centre is a mission-driven organization, and a crucial component of our work is to serve as a community resource. We are very proud to host the following Jewish and secular organizations at heavily discounted or no cost:

Board of Rabbis of Greater Philadelphia

Girl Scouts

Henry H. Houston Elementary School

Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia

Parkway Northwest High School for Peace and Social Justice

Philadelphia Police Department

Ramah Day Camp

Weaver’s Way Cooperative

West Mt. Airy Neighbors

Additionally, we serve as a polling place, and share our playground with the neighborhood when it is not being used by our preschool or Religious School. We also provide food and shelter to families who are experiencing homelessness as part of the Interfaith Hospitality Network for four weeks each year.

When our own busy program calendar permits, and within the Jewish ritual guidelines of the Conservative Jewish movement, we are happy to rent our space for meetings, celebrations, or other events. Facility rental income helps to support the important work we do to serve our community and organizations (such as those listed above). Please inquire with our synagogue office for room rental rates and availability.
