Tu biSh’vat is considered the New Year of the Trees, and marks the start of spring in Israel, when trees begin to bloom after a long, cold winter. It is a great time to take a walk and notice the nature all around you. Are there still leaves on the trees? Which plants have changed color and which look dormant? How do people in different parts of the world experience the holiday of Tu biSh’vat depending on the weather? Join Rabbi Adam for a walk through the Morris Arboretum as we show some love for trees and for the earth.
This program is geared towards children aged infant-6 and their older siblings and grown-ups and enjoyed by those of any age. The program will take place outdoors at the Morris Arboretum, and we’ll keep moving to stay toasty! The walk begins at 10:30 AM on Sunday, January 16, and will last about 45-60 minutes. You are free to stay longer to explore the Arboretum. Masks are required for those who are of the age to wear them.
Registration closes on January 7!
GJC would like to extend thanks and gratitude to the Harold & Renee Berger Family Engagement Endowment Fund for sponsoring this event and to the Wolfe Family Foundation for their support in all GJC programming.
