Torah Scrolls: Up Close and Personal

7:00 – 8:30 PM on Tuesdays, April 26, May 3, and May 10 (Zoom)

Torah scribe Jen Taylor Friedman helps us zoom in on the tiny details of Torah scrolls. We’ll learn some Talmud having to do with Torahs, look at some of the oldest known scrolls, discuss what has to be the same and what can be different, and see some of the things that make Torah scrolls so special. There will be lots of time in this class for questions. This class is part of the Open Beit Midrash series and meets on Zoom from 7:00-8:30PM on Tuesdays, April 26, May 3, and May 10.

Jen Taylor Friedman

Jen Taylor Friedman has worked as a Torah scribe for sixteen years. She has written six Torah scrolls and trained at least six other Torah scribes. She is working on a doctorate in medieval Torah scrolls, and she specialises in historical Torah scripts.
