This dialogue between GJC members Judge Michael Baylson and his daughter, lawyer Mira Baylson, will address questions about living in a turbulent time for American law. What moral and ethical frameworks do judges, lawyers, and community members use when we believe a law or policy is unjust or unconstitutional? How do we see lawyers and judges as moral actors, and how do they view their obligations to protect the rule of law? How do Jewish identity and Jewish values affect our relationship with American law? Please join us to explore these questions and more with this accomplished father-daughter duo. There will be time at the end for audience questions.
