8:30 AM:  Virtual Art Beit Midrash with Rabbi Richman
Online, Monday and Thursday mornings from 8:30-9:30 AM via Zoom. Song, learning, and creative practice all in one! Newspapers, magazines, anything from your recycling bin, or any art supplies you may have around the house is all you need.

1:00 PM:  Weekly Torah Study and Discussion of Relevant Sacred Times throughout the Year Cycle with Rabbi Fredi Cooper
This group meets weekly to study and read closely Jewish texts. In addition to the biblical text, midrashic texts are introduced when they extend the understanding of the texts encountered.

7:00 PM:  Support Group for People Living Alone
Facilitated by Andrea Jacobs
The challenges and opportunities of living alone have rarely been so profound. Join us as we explore what each of us has called upon to nourish and support our path forward at this delicate time.

TUESDAY

9:00 AM:  Tuesday Meditation Group with Rabbi Malkah Binah Klein and Rabbi Sheila Weinberg
A community for spiritual deepening through chant, Torah study, and twenty minutes of silence.  All are welcome.  Led by Rabbi Malkah Binah Klein and Rabbi Sheila Weinberg. Everyone is welcome to join; both experienced meditators and those new to meditation practice are welcome. This meditation is being led via Zoom; for more information or the link to access the group, please email Teena Robinson.

12:00 PM:  Lunchtime Torah with Rabbi Zeff

Join Rabbi Zeff each week online via Zoom for a 30 minute study of the Torah portion and how the ancient rabbis understood it, based on Rabbi Reuven Hammer’s A Year with the Sages. The intent is to have some brief learning about the lens that the ancients brought to Torah, how they understood it, and how that can be helpful for our own lives.

7:30 PM:  Nonprofit Leader’s COVID-19 Support Group (every other Tuesday)
Facilitated by Adina Abramowitz, President, Consulting for Change
A support group for leaders of nonprofits. Leaders include Executive Directors, Program Managers, Financial Managers, and anyone who manages people and/or budgets.

2:00 PM:  So You Miss Your Grandchildren? (every other Wednesday)

This group will bring grandparents and great-grandparents together to support one another and talk about how they’re feeling as the pandemic separates them from their grandchildren. We’ll share what we’ve done to maintain contact and what resources we’ve used, and brainstorm new creative ideas.

Facilitated by Martha Millison, LCSW and Rabbi Elyse Wechterman
We are here to support one another through the challenges presented by job loss and transition. This is a gently facilitated conversation among peers.

1:00 PM:  Parenting and Caring for Teens During COVID
Facilitated by Ann Itzkowitz, MA and Richard S. Stern, PhD
A support group for sharing stories and strategies about the joys and challenges of parenting and caring for adolescents when spending so much time at home. We’ll explore the challenges of work versus family life boundaries, discipline, family fun and activities, chores, moods, emotional climate, and more.

2:00 PM:  Shalvah: Weekly Chant with Nina Peskin & Rabbi Zeff
For a full description of the program, please click here. Chanting is the easiest form of singing, and no experience is required. Whether you want to chant with us in your home, or just want to tune in and listen, we invite you to join Nina Peskin and Rabbi Zeff for 20-30 minutes each week for a little shelter from the storm.  We will cultivate equanimity by learning about the meaning of a chant with Rabbi Zeff, doing a brief, guided meditation, and then chanting with Nina Peskin. If you miss this live, each session will be recorded and available on GJC’s YouTube channel.
