Ami Yares (AH-me, he/him) is a peacebuilder and musician based in Philadelphia. Ami has toured internationally and nationally playing bluegrass and American folk, Middle Eastern, West African and Jewish music from all over. He’s shared the stages with Achi Noam Nini (Noa), Mira Awad, David Broza and Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary and is a mainstay of the Philadelphia singer-songwriter community  Ami continues to promote peacebuilding through his original music and with BuildaBridge International, an arts and education non-profit that he helms. Ami’s relationship is aptly captured by writer and philosopher Aldous Huxely:  “After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.”

Ami Yares will lead a musical Kabbalat Shabbat service including acoustic instruments.
