HIGH HOLIDAY GUEST TICKETS (CLICK HERE TO ACQUIRE)

High Holiday services and programs will be in-person indoors, outdoors, and online (please see specific schedules). E-tickets will be sent to GJC members and those who have purchased guest tickets via email 1-2 weeks before Rosh ha-Shanah. If you do not receive your e-tickets and links by Wednesday, September 14, please contact Kate Lawn at program@germantownjewishcentre.org. Emails and voicemails will be answered up to 3:00 PM on Friday, September 23, and then beginning again Wednesday, September 28 through 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 4.

  • Attending Services:  Diversity is the hallmark of our Jewish lives at GJC, and we will, as usual, be offering multiple options for celebrating the High Holidays. We encourage you to attend services either in person or remotely, according to your comfort and preference, and we look forward eagerly to being together and greeting the New Year as a community.
    • The Charry Service
      • in-person in the Charry Sanctuary (masks & COVID vaccinations required) and accessible through Live-Stream
      • The Charry Service, led by Rabbi Zeff and Nina Peskin, will be held in-person in the Charry Sanctuary and also be accessible by live-stream for the High Holidays.

    • Minyan Masorti
      • in-person outside and a separate Zoom service
      • Minyan Masorti will be holding services in-person outside under GJC’s “Parking Lot Tent.”
      • Minyan Masorti will also be holding a separate service over Zoom on Rosh ha-Shanah Day 1, Kol Nidrei, and Yom Kippur morning services through Musaf. For more information and the links to those services, please contact Ned Kripke.
    • Minyan Dorshei Derekh
      • in-person in the Temin Canteen Room (masks & COVID vaccinations required), Zoom, and Live-Stream
      • Dorshei Derekh services will be held in person in the Temin Canteen Room and online for the High Holidays.
      • Zoom links to access the services will be emailed through the Dorshei Derekh listserv.
      • The Live-Stream link will be posted on this page and emailed before Rosh ha-Shanah.
    • Text Studies
      • in-person in the Magil Chapel (masks & COVID vaccinations required)
      • Text studies led by Student Rabbi Maria Pulzetti will be offered on each day of Rosh ha-Shanah and on Yom Kippur in person in the Magil Chapel. Please click here for the schedule and descriptions.

HIGH HOLIDAY FAMILY & YOUTH SERVICES, CHILDCARE & CAMP YOM TOV

Jewish preschool sensation Anna Goldberg, Religious School teachers, and GJC’s Teen Advisor Bridget Siegel-Fultz will lead services with music, creativity, and age-appropriate reflection on the Jewish meanings of these holy days. No registration is necessary for children’s services. Childcare is available for children ages 6 months-1st grade and is run by our Early Childhood Program teachers and teen assistants. Camp Yom Tov provides supervised youth activities for children in 2nd-7th grade and is run by our teen madrichim (counselors). Registration, immunization records, and COVID vaccination records (as eligible) are necessary for both childcare and Camp Yom Tov; no walk-ins will be allowed on the day of. Children’s lunch is available (outside in the Maple Tent); registration is required.

  • IMMUNIZATION POLICY:  Download here.
  • Each of the following services takes place at 11:00 AM on Rosh ha-Shanah Day 1, Rosh ha-Shanah Day 2, and Yom Kippur:
    • Ginat Hag: for children age 0-6 and their grown-ups, led by Anna Goldberg (Maslow Auditorium)
    • Tekiyah: a service for 2-4th graders, led by Rebecca Van Wagner (Room 206-208)
    • T’ruah: a service for 5th-7th graders (Magil Chapel)
    • Teen Experience: led by Bridget Siegel-Fultz, Teen Advisor (Quitman Library)
  • On Kol Nidrei, the following service takes place at 6:30 PM:
    • Family Kol Nidrei Service for all ages
  • On Yom Kippur evening, the following service takes place at 6:00 PM:
    • Kids’ Ne’ilah (Maple Tent) – For children in 2nd grade and up. Stories, mindfulness, and singing at the end of Yom Kippur. We will conclude by joining the larger community in the Charry Sanctuary for shofar and Havdalah.
