Are you having a hard time deciphering the gender language of the preteens and teens in your life?  Are you confused as to what it represents and why it matters so much to teens of all genders? We invite all adults eager to learn about teen gender identity through a Jewish lens in a supportive environment, using Moving Traditions’ curriculum.

TUITION: $10/member, $15/non-member


Rabbi Tamara R. Cohen 

Rabbi Tamara R. Cohen is the Chief Program Officer at Moving Traditions, an organization that creates impact-focused youth-serving programs at the intersection of gender, wellbeing, and Judaism. She has made significant contributions to the national field of Jewish teen education and engagement through envisioning, designing, and guiding implementation of the Meyer Gottesman Kol Koleinu Teen Feminist Fellowship; Kumi: An Anti-Oppression Teen Leadership Experience; and Tzelem, teen groups for LGBTQ+, non-binary, and gender expansive teens. Tamara was ordained at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College and earned an MA in Women’s History from Sarah Lawrence College and a BA in Women’s Studies and English summa cum laude from Barnard College, and she received a 2023 Covenant Award for her contributions to Jewish education.
