Shabbat Liturgy Through a Woman’s Lens

CLASS SESSIONS: 

7:00 PM on Wednesdays in the Maslow Auditorium: 10/25/23; 11/8/23; 12/13/23; 1/17/24; 1/31/24; 2/28/24

 

In this six-session class with Rabbi Beth Janus and co-sponsored by Women of GJC, we will study the content and structure of the Shabbat morning service and discuss its meaning in women’s lives. We will proceed to discover existing contemporary feminist liturgy and try our hand at creating our own. This class is open to all, with materials provided in Hebrew and English.

TUITION: $60/member, $90/non-member


Rabbi Beth Janus

Beth Janus is a Reform rabbi who has been a member of GJC for 14 years. She is a community rabbi whose work includes chaplaincy at Lafayette Redeemer. Adult education is one of her many passions.
