A Special Tot Shabbat: Shalom Aleichem (Welcoming the Angels)

--

When the sun sets on Friday evening, Shabbat allows us to pause our busy lives, gather with loved ones, and recharge our physical and spiritual selves. The song Shalom Aleichem (“May peace be upon you”) is a traditional way to bring in Shabbat, and it is often sung at the dinner table. This song welcomes in the angels who, according to Jewish tradition, dwell with us on our day of rest. At our special Friday night Tot Shabbat, shadow puppets will tell a story about these special Shabbat visitors. Join us to learn about, experience, and take home this tradition in a whole new way!
