Gathering the Waters: Reimagining Mikveh
CLASS SESSIONS: Thursdays, February 2, 9 & 16 from 7:00-08:30 PM on Zoom
Are you interested in an ancient Jewish ritual to mark a life transition, seek healing, celebrate a milestone, or as a regular embodied practice? The Torah teaches that mikveh, the gathering of the waters was one of God’s earliest acts of creation, and mikva’ot, ritual pools, have been used in Jewish communities for thousands of years. In this three-session class open to teens and adults, we will study Biblical and rabbinic sources and explore contemporary mikveh ritual. If participants wish, Maria will co-create immersion rituals with students and arrange visits to the mikveh outside of class time.
TUITION: $30/member, $45/non-member
