Learn to Read Torah (in-person class)

Come learn how to chant from the Torah scroll!  Leyning connects us to generations of Jews who have preserved our sacred text, empowers us to participate in services, and for many, it is a spiritual experience.  This class is for you if you haven’t leyned since you were 13 and want to brush up, and it’s also for you if you are beginning right now!  The class will culminate with an opportunity to share the chanting of an aliyah in the Charry service in the spring.  (Prerequisite: ability to sound out Hebrew words.)

Patty Wright is a copy editor and a nurse. She enjoys leyning, studying trope, and working with bnai mitzvah students of all ages.
