Speakers:
Dr. Gilat Juli Bachar, JSD, LLB, MBA is an Assistant Professor of Law at Temple University Beasley School of Law. Gilat graduated with a JSD from Stanford Law School in 2018. She clerked for the Israeli Chief Justice, worked as an associate in one of Israel’s leading litigation firms, and earned an LLB in Law and an MBA in Business Administration from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Her work has been published or is forthcoming in journals such as the Cardozo Law Review, Hastings Law Journal, SMU Law Review, and Chicago Journal of International Law.
Corey Shdiamah, PhD, LLM, LLB is Daniel Thursz Distinguished Professor of Social Justice at the University of Maryland School of Social Work with law degrees from Tel Aviv University and the University of Pennsylvania and a PhD from Bryn Mawr College, who studies the impact of policies on the ground. Shdaimah, who has degrees in law and social work, is a leading voice on U.S. childcare policy, speaking in academic venues and to the news media about the struggles faced by families and providers and the range of early education and childcare policy responses to address them.
Moderators:
Yuval Katz, PhD is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for Advanced Research in Global Communication & Center on Digital Culture and Society at the University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg School for Communication. Katz’s work focuses on mediatized everyday peace in Israel/Palestine.
Nili Gesser, PhD is an interdisciplinary mixed-methods researcher who has worked extensively with vulnerable populations for 7 years. She received her PhD in criminal justice from Temple University.
