
Jewish Bioethics Faces Contemporary Challenges
7:00 – 8:30 PM on Tuesdays, February 15, February 22, and March 1 (Zoom)
We will consider central principles of Jewish bioethics and then discuss their application to current controversies, including vaccination, end-of-life decision making, abortion and topics raised by participants in the class. This class is part of the Open Beit Midrash series and meets on Zoom from 7:00-8:30PM on Tuesdays, February 15, February 22, and March 1.
Rabbi David Teutsch
Rabbi David Teutsch was the founding director of the Center for Jewish Ethics at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College. A past president of the Society of Jewish Ethics and of the Academic Coalition for Jewish Bioethics, he is a renowned lecturer and consultant. His books include a three-volume Guide to Jewish Practice, Behoref Hayamim: A Values-Based Jewish Guide to for Decision Making at the End of Life, and the multivolume Kol Haneshamah Reconstructionist prayer books.
