HAZAK Shabbat

Please join HAZAK, GJC’s elders group, in celebrating the annual HAZAK Shabbat in the Charry Service. HAZAK member will lead and participate in much of the service. After kiddush/lunch in the Charry Lobby, which is open to all, everyone is welcome to hear Ilya Knizhnik, co-founder of Ukraine Trust Chain, a local organization that raises money ($200 million so far) and brings people out of war-torn Ukraine (66,000 so far). He will be speaking about this organization’s efforts and about the history of Jews in Ukraine.
Ilya Knizhnik was born and raised in Kyiv, Ukraine, where his family has deep roots spanning over 250 years. A resident of Philadelphia for three decades, Ilya currently serves as the Director of Information Technology at Manor College, a Catholic institution founded by Ukrainian nuns. In response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Ilya co-founded Ukraine TrustChain, which has rapidly mobilized to support Ukrainian civilians in need, evacuating tens of thousands and rebuilding communities affected by the war.
