Prayer is for every day, and GJC supports a weekday minyan service, including Torah reading when appropriate, on Sunday, Monday, and Thursday mornings throughout the year in the Magil Chapel. This 20-minute abbreviated service (rain location: Magil Chapel) is both quick and expressive, combining the singing of a few of the psalms of the Kabbalat Shabbat service with a shortened Ma'ariv (evening) service to welcome us into Shabbat. The service allows us to have a brief way to greet Shabbat before we continue to dinner
This weekly member-led traditional egalitarian minyan puts an emphasis on a complete traditional prayer service, with repetition of the Amidah in Shacharit and a full Torah reading. The minyan meets in the Temin Canteen Room, and all roles in the service are coordinated and filled by members, who also organize social activities, study, and celebrations
A dedicated space for youth to play Shabbat-friendly games; some games will be provided, but kids are welcome to bring their own. Please respect the space, and clean up and put away the games after playing them.
