Taught by our wonderful, experienced dance teacher, Grant Shulman, GJC's Israeli dance group welcomes dancers of all ages and levels. We begin each session with 45 minutes of beginner dances, followed by instruction, review, open dancing, and requests with increasing levels of difficulty. This spirited service in the Maslow Auditorium is led by volunteer members who lead us in singing the psalms of Kabbalat Shabbat--and this community loves to sing! The Rabbi offers a short teaching before we move on to the Ma'ariv (evening) service, which we again sing and chant together. The service lasts approximately one hour,
This weekly member-led traditional egalitarian minyan puts an emphasis on a complete traditional prayer service, with repetition of the Amidah in Shacharit and a full Torah reading. The minyan meets in the Temin Canteen Room, and all roles in the service are coordinated and filled by members, who also organize social activities, study, and celebrations
A dedicated space for youth to play Shabbat-friendly games; some games will be provided, but kids are welcome to bring their own. Please respect the space, and clean up and put away the games after playing them.
