Yom Kippur Ma’ariv: Minyan Masorti
This member-led traditional egalitarian minyan puts an emphasis on a complete traditional prayer service. During the High Holidays, the minyan meets in the Marcus Auditorium, and all roles in the service are coordinated and filled by members.
Yom Kippur Break-Fast
Join Rabbi Zeff and his family for a delicious vegetarian meal provided by Centre Catering (under Traditional Kosher Supervision) to break your fast immediately after Yom Kippur Services. The cost for the dinner is $18/person. Registration coming soon!
Morning Minyan
Prayer is for every day, and GJC supports a weekday minyan service, including Torah reading when appropriate, on Sunday, Monday, and Thursday mornings throughout the year in the Magil Chapel. Shabbat in the Neighborhood
This service and potluck meets in different members' homes and features a song-filled Kabbalat Shabbat service and the opportunity to have Shabbat dinner and socialize together. We will publicize the location in advance, and we invite you to bring your favorite vegetarian dish and your Shabbat spirit to this informal gathering.
Minyan Masorti Shabbat Service
This weekly member-led traditional egalitarian minyan puts an emphasis on a complete traditional prayer service, with repetition of the Amidah in Shacharit and a full Torah reading. The minyan meets in the Temin Canteen Room, and all roles in the service are coordinated and filled by members, who also organize social activities, study, and celebrations
Shabbat Childcare
GJC is pleased to provide drop-off childcare, sponsored by Women of GJC and supervised by an Early Childhood Program teacher, on Shabbat mornings for children age 2-5. Children play and read stories in one of the Early Childhood Program's rooms. No reservations are necessary. The teacher may be able to accommodate children under age 2
Charry Service
Led by Rabbi Zeff, this weekly service puts an emphasis on learning, with a shorter Shacharit prayer service and a longer period for study, led by the Rabbi and by members. The service meets in the Charry Sanctuary during the year, place where most of our Bar and Bat Mitzvah services and celebrations take place,
Shabbat Kid Space
A dedicated space for youth to play Shabbat-friendly games; some games will be provided, but kids are welcome to bring their own. Please respect the space, and clean up and put away the games after playing them.
