Rising Song Shabbat
This musically and spiritually uplifting service in the Maslow Auditorium welcomes Shabbat with nigunim (wordless melodies) and songs that open hearts and bring people together. The service lasts a little more than an hour and is led by participants and faculty of the Rising Song Jewish Music Residency, an incubator for creative Jewish musical-spiritual leaders.
Shabbat Childcare
During the school year we provide child care from 10:00 am to noon on Shabbat mornings and (with extended hours) on holidays for children age 2-5. This is a drop-off program supervised by one of our preschool teachers. Children play, read stories and eat snacks while parents are participating in Shabbat and holiday services. We
Charry Service
Led by Rabbi Zeff, this weekly service puts an emphasis on learning, with a shorter Shacharit prayer service and a longer period for study, led by the Rabbi and by members. The service meets in the Charry Sanctuary during the year, place where most of our Bar and Bat Mitzvah services and celebrations take place,
Shabbat Sha’baby
Welcome to Shabbat Sha'baby! This monthly Shabbat experience, for babies from birth to early walkers and their grown-ups, invites you to celebrate the special time of Shabbat with singing, movement, relaxation and play, and share and connect with other new parents and families. Ginat Shabbat
A adult-child Shabbat service for children up to age 6. Ginat Shabbat is a garden of delights for young families ready to move their bodies and take part in fun and engaging Shabbat activities! Kids pray from their own age-appropriate siddur, and the service includes prayer, sharing, and storytelling that highlight themes from the weekly Torah
Jr. Congregation
In Junior Congregation, kids build the skills and the confidence to take the lead! Each week, 2nd-6th graders lift up their voices and step up in the ways that are most comfortable – some lead prayers in Hebrew or in English, some call pages, some prepare Torah readings, and everyone gets involved through interactive discussions and thematic activities. GJC has scheduled the next Chesed Committee "Cook-In" for Sunday, Sept. 15th from 12-3 PM (and can use some people to stay until 4). We need shoppers, choppers, preppers, makers, bakers, and artists to lend a hand in making meals and cards that go to members of the GJC community experiencing an illness or a
