Minyan Masorti

This weekly member-led traditional egalitarian minyan puts an emphasis on a complete traditional prayer service, with repetition of the Amidah in Shacharit and a full Torah reading. The minyan meets in the Temin Canteen Room, and all roles in the service are coordinated and filled by members, who also organize social activities, study, and celebrations

Israeli Dancing

The Germantown Jewish Centre Israeli dance group meets on Sunday mornings from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM from September through June, and on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-9:00 PM during the summer. Under the guidance of an experienced teacher (Grant Shulman), the sessions begin with instruction and review before moving on to intermediate level dances. It

Mt. Airy Village Fair

The Mt. Airy Village Fair is a great event and provides a wonderful way to spread the word about GJC in the neighborhood! Help grow our membership by visiting the GJC booth and share your enthusiasm of GJC with prospective members who come by. We have a day of events planned, from "Ask the Rabbi"

People of the Book

GJC’s Jewish Book Reading Group meets at 7:15pm on the second Tuesday of each month at GJC’s Quitman Library. We read fiction and nonfiction books of Jewish interest written mostly, but not solely, by Jewish writers and chosen by the group. Volunteer group members lead the discussion.
