This spirited service in the Maslow Auditorium is led by volunteer members who lead us in singing the psalms of Kabbalat Shabbat--and this community loves to sing!  The Rabbi offers a short teaching before we move on to the Ma'ariv (evening) service, which we again sing and chant together. Minyan Masorti Shabbat Service

This weekly member-led traditional egalitarian minyan puts an emphasis on a complete traditional prayer service, with repetition of the Amidah in Shacharit and a full Torah reading. The minyan meets in the Temin Canteen Room, and all roles in the service are coordinated and filled by members, who also organize social activities, study, and celebrations

Shabbat Childcare

GJC is pleased to provide drop-off childcare, sponsored by Women of GJC and supervised by an Early Childhood Program teacher, on Shabbat mornings for children age 2-5.  Children play and read stories in one of the Early Childhood Program's rooms. No reservations are necessary. The teacher may be able to accommodate children under age 2

Charry Service: Mazal tov to Ella Berman on becoming Bat Mitzvah!

Shabbat Kid Space

A dedicated space for youth to play Shabbat-friendly games; some games will be provided, but kids are welcome to bring their own. Please respect the space, and clean up and put away the games after playing them.

Dorshei Derekh Shabbat Service

This weekly member-led Reconstructionist minyan puts an emphasis on singing, with a full P'sukei d'Zimra (preliminary service), and interactive discussion during the d'var Torah. The minyan meets in the Maslow Auditorium, and all roles in the service are coordinated and filled by members, who also organize social activities, study, and celebrations throughout the year.

A parent-child Shabbat service, led by Miss Amy Jo Rosenthal, for children up to age 6. Jr. Congregation

In this weekly prayer service, children take the lead in running the program contributing in whatever way is comfortable for them.  Some children lead prayers in English or Hebrew; some prepare Torah readings; even the youngest children participate in a variety of activities that do not require reading knowledge.  Any child who wants a leadership
