People of the Book

GJC’s Jewish Book Reading Group meets at 7:15pm on the second Tuesday of each month at GJC’s Quitman Library. We read fiction and nonfiction books of Jewish interest written mostly, but not solely, by Jewish writers and chosen by the group. Volunteer group members lead the discussion. Rising Song Shabbat

This musically and spiritually uplifting service in the Maslow Auditorium welcomes Shabbat with nigunim (wordless melodies) and songs that open hearts and bring people together. The service lasts a little more than an hour and is led by participants and faculty of the Rising Song Jewish Music Residency, an incubator for creative Jewish musical-spiritual leaders.

Welcome to Shabbat Sha'baby! This monthly Shabbat experience, for babies from birth to early walkers and their grown-ups, invites you to celebrate the special time of Shabbat with singing, movement, relaxation and play, and share and connect with other new parents and families.
