SPECIAL MUSICAL KABBALAT SHABBAT & FAREWELL TO RABBI BEC
with Guest Musician Rabbi Micah Shapiro
Please join us for GJC’s first in-person Friday night service in almost two years and for Rabbi Bec’s final Friday night service with GJC. This will be a musical service, including a guitar and drum. After candle lighting, at approximately 5:45 PM, we will only be using the drum. Rabbi Bec will lead the service in partnership with guest musicians Rabbi Micah Shapiro and Aaren Alpert. Rabbi Micah Shapiro is a composer, prayer leader and music producer. He is the founder of Boston’s Nariya-The Shabbat Sing Out and Yetzira-The Jewish Songwriters Collective and released his debut album, Ta’ir Eretz-Light Up the Earth in 2019. Micah was ordained by The Rabbinical School of Hebrew College and trained and studied with Nava Tehila in Jerusalem and The Rising Song Institute in Philadelphia. His second album, Zeh Ha-sha’ar, is due to be released in late 202
