Chesed Cook-In

GJC has scheduled the next Chesed Committee “Cook-In” for Sunday, Sept. 15th from 12-3 PM (and can use some people to stay until 4). We need shoppers, choppers, preppers, makers, bakers, and artists to lend a hand in making meals and cards that go to members of the GJC community experiencing an illness or a loss, who have a new baby, and other situations where a homemade meal prepared with love and care would be needed. The Chesed Committee is looking to expand its scope in two ways.
1) We are looking for volunteers who would be willing to deliver meals on occasion. We need people to deliver within Mt. Airy as well as in surrounding neighborhoods and in Center City.  If you sign up to participate, you would be notified when there is a need, and would respond if you are able do that particular delivery.
2) We are also looking for several people who would be willing to do ongoing friendly home visits 1-2 times/month to members of the GJC community who Rabbi Zeff feels could benefit from more in-person contact.  Rabbi Zeff would be the one who would match the volunteer to visit recipient.
