We are beginning another year of school during the COVID-19 pandemic. When ECP reopened in June 2020, we implemented policies to help keep our students and staff healthy. These policies have been changed, amended, and updated as we have received guidance from health officials.
ECP will communicate changes to usual operations as they are implemented, based on guidelines from the CDC, the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, and the Philadelphia Department of Health.
We urge that all families are transparent with ECP staff regarding their child’s health and any possible COVID exposure among household members. These policies have been implemented for the health and safety of our entire community and are only successful when everyone is compliant. We appreciate your cooperation in adhering to all of our COVID policies.
At this time, COVID vaccinations are not required at the GJC ECP.
We strongly encourage all above 6 months to be vaccinated against COVID.
Cohorting
Children will remain in one group for the majority of the school day. Similar age groupings will combine for indoor and outdoor play, as well as Early Care and After Care. Limited all-school gatherings will be held.
Daily Health Questionnaire
All students will be required to submit a daily health questionnaire each morning before coming to school. ECP staff are unable to complete the questionnaire on behalf of students.
COVID Testing
Students and staff who exhibit symptoms of COVID will be required to test before returning to school or submit a doctor’s note explaining an alternative diagnosis. After an exposure, testing should be completed at appropriate intervals. Our post-exposure attendance policy varies by age/ability to mask.
Mask Policy
As of September 28, 2022, masks are optional for parents, children and ECP staff.
