Event Navigation

How do we remember the moments of Shabbat?  How do we move on from a moment in time that we wish could last forever, from an activity or a place that we love and don’t want to leave? We find ways to take memories of it with us. Join Rabbi Adam Zeff and musical guests Raji Malik and Branavan Ganesan for a musical, storytelling Havdalah where we explore the moments that make Shabbat special and what can help us remember them as we bid Shabbat farewell.

This program is geared for children age 18 months to 6 years, but infants and older siblings are welcome, and will enjoy it too!  Stay for a delicious, kid-friendly dinner that follows Havdalah.  The program is free of charge, dinner is $10/adult and $5/kids age 4+, and sponsorships to cover the cost of dinner are readily available upon request!  All are welcome!  Please RSVP by Jan. 30 at www.germantownjewishcentre.org/jam-havdalah.

The JAM programming series, developed in 2014 and funded by the Harold and Renee Berger Family Engagement Endowment Fund, brings exciting, fun and educational programs to children and families. Guest artists collaborate with GJC rabbis to lead Shabbat services, afternoon programs and other events with song, dance, storytelling, art, music, puppetry and more. Tot Havdalah JAM brings children, parents, grandparents, and special friends together to bid the Shabbat Queen farewell in a truly unique way. Delicious dinner follows the program.
