HAZAK Screening: “Leaving Memel: Refugees from the Reich”

10/07/2018 @ 10/07/2018 - 10/07/2018 UTC-4

Event Navigation

Everyone is invited to a special screening of a very important and moving documentary.  Children 12 and older, with parents or school class, are particularly invited to attend.
This is a film based on the life events of Cherie Goren and her family, who were forced to leave their home in Memel, Poland, when the Nazis took over the country in 1939. Cherie’s story is captured in this remarkable film
by producer Fred Finkelstein, Cherie’s nephew. The film has enjoyed worldwide circulation, by describing how this family survived during one of civilization’s most horrible periods.  Producer Fred Finkelstein and Cherie Goren herself will be present to discuss the film, put the events in their historical context, and answer any questions you may have.
There is no charge for this event (donations for overhead will be accepted).
Please RSVP by October 5 to Coleman Poses, cposes@verizon.net or Helen Feinberg, helen@feinberg.net
