Morning Minyan & Siyyum Tractate Sanhedrin: Ta’anit Behorot (Fast of the First Born) – 7:00 AM
Traditionally, firstborn children fast on erev Pesah, but morning Torah study exempts them from that fast. Because Friday is not generally a fast day, this year it will be held on Thursday. Whether or not you are a firstborn, please join us for Torah study at morning minyan, followed by breakfast!
In this siyyum (celebration of the completion of study), we will join Student Rabbi Maria Pulzetti as she completes her study of tractate Sanhedrin, the Talmudic tractate focusing on courts. She began studying this tractate one page a day (“daf yomi”) in December, and is on track to finish on Wednesday, April 9! Maria will share some of the fascinating stories and legal principles in Sanhedrin, and we’ll talk together about what those ideas might mean for us today.
All materials will be provided in Hebrew and English. Breakfast, with hametz!, will be served after we study.
If you need to study on your own schedule, please click HERE to access the source sheet! (Link coming soon…)
