The GJC Men’s Club presents “GJC – The Life of Our Building” with Sherman Aronson, AIA, LEED AP
Sunday, August 27 at 10:00 AM
beginning in the Temin Canteen Room
Join us for a walking tour of our landmark building, the center of our worship and community events. We will start with a brief slide show for an overview of the history of our congregation and the bold steps taken to create one of the first modern synagogues in the country. The talk will highlight the range of preservation efforts and renovations to keep the 75-year-old facility up to date, meeting our evolving functions, and pursuing green improvements and efficiencies. Then we will take a walk together, pointing out the exceptional features of architectural design and aesthetics that we all share. We will be mostly inside, but if there is time we can go outdoors, too. We will point out security and egress points all along the tour.
