This 14-session class, including video lectures produced by the Shalom Hartman Institute, addresses the complex features of Jewish peoplehood, helping participants open their hearts and minds to hear and respect those who have differing views about Jewishness, collective identity, and Israel. The curriculum examines the forces dividing the Jewish people today, including nationalism, antisemitism, dual loyalty, and identity politics; and it imagines new conceptual frameworks that can help sustain and grow the story of our people for a new millennium.
This class will be taught by Rabbi Adam Zeff and rotating facilitators from GJC’s Israel Programming Committee.
