This three-session course will explore the contributions made by selected Jewish activists to various movements for social justice in the United States from the mid nineteenth through the late twentieth centuries. We will read excerpts from the activists’ speeches, memoirs or other writings, and will discuss the ways in which these dedicated individuals can continue to inspire us today.
