How do we teach our children to live in harmony with the world? By starting from the very beginning…with Adam and Eve and a little honeybee. Long before there were words like “ecology” and “environment,” the ancient rabbis wondered about the first beings and how they learned to live in harmony with the diverse range of creatures that inhabit the earth. During Rosh ha-Shanah, we celebrate the birthday of the world, but from past to present, we still struggle to understand how we relate to all the different parts of creation.
