Who Are We?

Women of GJC brings together a diverse community of people united to embrace the uniqueness of women. We speak out on critical issues that affect women from the perspective of Jewish values and traditions. Membership is open to all who identify with our mission.

What Do We Do?

WGJC is everywhere you look! We inform, entertain, and educate through our programming:

  • Guest Speakers (on timely topics and social issues)
  • Trips and Tours (e.g., walking tours, garden tours)

Special Projects of WGJC

The Little Shop:  We carry a large selection of Judaic and nonJudaic giftware including Kiddush cups, talitot, mezuzot, toys for all ages, scarves, bowls, and unique jewelry.

Women’s Shabbat:  Women from all groups in the synagogue lead the prayers, read the Torah and Haftorah portions, present the D’var Torah, sponsor a luncheon and host a speaker.

Torah Fund Brunch:  Our yearly spring event which honors one of our own as well as helping to support future rabbinical and cantorial leaders throughout the Jewish Community.

Building Beautiful:  We help raise donations for projects that enhance and beautify GJC’s building and grounds.

Youth Outreach:  We give holiday-themed gifts to all the children in our GJC programs, and send gift/care packages to GJC college students.

Your Women of GJC membership goes a long way!

Annual dues are $45, and our membership year runs from July 1 – June 30.
There are three easy ways to pay dues:

  • By check made out to WGJC. Mail or deliver to Germantown Jewish Centre, 400 West Ellet St, Phila, PA 19119, Attn: WGJC Dues
  • Online with PayPal to TreasurerWGJC@gmail.com. No PayPal account required is required. You can use your credit or debit card. A small card processing fee is automatically added by PayPal. Click here to pay online with PayPal. 
  • With the Venmo phone app to Treasurer-WGJC.
