Shabbat Potluck & Program with Rabbi Leonard Gordon

A Jewish Reading of Sura1of the Quran

Friday, November 10th following our 6:00 PM Kol Zimrah service (approx. 7:15 PM)

The first Sura (chapter) of the Qur'an is short and it contains terms and ideas familiar to us from the High Holiday liturgy and the Bible. How might these verses bridge our traditions?  Join us for a lively and meaningful Shabbat potluck dinner and program with GJC's Rabbi Emeritus! Please RSVP below and tell us what you will add to the table*.

Germantown Jewish Centre’s Rabbi Emeritus, Leonard Gordon, served GJC from 1994-2010. He is co-Director of Interfaith Partners for Peace, an organization that promotes co-existence for Israelis and Palestinians. Rabbi Gordon is completing a Doctor of Ministry degree in Interfaith Studies at the Andover Newton Theological School.
